A boutique home-fragrance brand from Sweden was preparing to expand its winter candle line, during their glass candle jars import search, they commissioned Mosteb to develop a frost-white textured jar with a thick weighted base and a natural oak lid.
They chose this custom style because they wanted a jar that matched their “Scandinavian Calm” theme—minimalist, tactile, and premium—and standard market jars lacked the desired texture and material pairing.

Challenges
- Frosted Texture Inconsistency：Their earlier samples from other suppliers showed uneven frosted density and patchy surfaces under soft lighting.
- Lid-Sealing Issues：The oak lids they sourced locally did not fit tightly due to tiny variations in jar mouth dimensions across batches.
Cause Analysis
Our engineering team reviewed the client’s samples and discovered that the frosting chemicals and application temperature were not aligned, causing matte density fluctuations.
For the sealing issue, measurements revealed that the inner diameter tolerance from their earlier supplier exceeded the EN standard, making consistent lid fit impossible.
To address this, Mosteb conducted controlled-temperature frosting tests, refined the slurry ratio for a smoother matte effect, and re-engineered the jar mouth tolerance to match the Swedish oak lid’s compression ring.
Solution
- Adopted a precision-controlled frosting booth with stable humidity and temperature to ensure uniform texture.
- Tightened the jar mouth ID tolerance to ±0.15 mm for reliable lid compatibility.
- Added inline optical scanners to detect surface irregularities before final shipment.
- Provided pre-shipment fit tests using lids the client supplied to ensure 100% sealing consistency.
Result
The final glass candle jars achieved perfectly even frosted finish, a flawless natural-oak lid fit, and a 98.9% AQL pass rate across mass production. The Swedish brand successfully completed their glass candle jars import and launched their winter collection with strong retailer feedback.
