A boutique candle brand from Portland, Oregon, was our client’s position , the glass candle jars vendor team, Mosteb, was approached by them to create a unique vessel for their “Mountain Mist” scented candle collection. It was a look that would convey not only the nature of the product but also the brand’s commitment to sustainability that they wanted to show by a frosted sage-green skleněná dóza na svíčku with a bamboo lid. 2. Výzva
Fabrication of the dóza na svíčku was the major challenge with two significant obstacles arising from the project:
- Soot Stain Resistanc:The method of whitening the glass used in these jars causes them to accumulate visible soot rings during burning, which are hard to remove and thus hospital the clean minimalist style the client was after.

The technical team carried out a series of tests, and they came to the conclusion that the micro-roughness on the surface of the frosted glass is the main reason for the increased soot that adheres to it due to which the slight variations in the temperature of the kiln are the reason for the inconsistency of the color.
Our engineers worked intensively with the client’s design and production teams to solve these problems. We carried out several pilot runs, using thermal mapping to locate the parts of the furnace where the heat was uneven. Simultaneously, we intervened in the frosting process to lower the surface porosity so that the surface would be smoother and more hygienic after completion.

4. Řešení
- Anti-Soot Coating Upgrade: To the interior surface, we installed a distinct nano-silica layer that led to a soot reduction by over 60%.
- Optimized Kiln Calibration: The firing temperature curve was recalibrated with segmented heating control to maintain ±3°C stability.
- Colorant Reformulation:A slight modification of the green pigment blend was done by us to increase the heat resistance and thereby the uniform heat color was achieved for all batches.
- Quality Assurance Improvement: We introduced a new examination point in the production cycle for spectral assessment to check the packaging color consistency.
5. Výsledek
Within a month, the customer got their last production run which consists of 10,000 frosted sage jars that are perfectly matched with no visible soot staining after a full burning test. The candle line of them was rolled out successfully throughout the Pacific Northwest, the clientele commending both the aroma and the simplistic yet stylish design.
