Making these vases can be seen as a simple task; however, they hit the road with three main stumbling blocks:
- Smooth Surface Finishing: The aesthetics of the vases were of utmost concern, thus requiring them to have a perfectly smooth and well-polished surface. If there is any scratch or imperfection, these will noticeably dim the visual power of the vases.
- Complex Pattern Mold Creation: The floral workshop intended to have the most sophisticated, deeply etched designs on their vases’ decorative surfaces. The pattern’s complexity challenge involved the requirement of very exact mold-making. Every detail in the engravings and the patterns had to be transferred perfectly from the mold to the glass, and even the tiniest mistake in the mold design could mean distorted or inconsistent patterns.

- Ability to give gifts: The problem was glass expansion and contraction that happens naturally during cooling and changes in temperature can lead to minor, sometimes unnoticeable surface imperfections even when the newly produced mold is flawless.
- Pattern Precision: The problem of the complicated engravings was that the slightest difference in pressure or temperature of the mold during production could cause the patterns on the glass surface to be not only blurred but also less sharp than expected. Semiconductor manufacturing process has to be extremely accurate, and it is very difficult to spot the source of a small inconsistency, as it could distort any of the intricate design details.
To achieve this, our engineers examined the molding and cooling processes and figured out the way to control temperature fluctuation. Moreover, they made sure that the molds that they were going to use were made with very close fit to the details of the desired engraving.

- Advanced Cooling Techniques: Our client was able to get what he asked for: the vases with a flawless, clear finish, thanks to our newly adopted method of cooling that was more thorough and hence surface defects were less likely to happen.
