Client Background
As a budding vase company, Mosteb received an inquiry from a boutique interior design studio based in Copenhagen, Denmark, specializing in residential styling and small commercial projects such as cafés and concept apartments.
The studio was preparing a new interior styling proposal centered on seasonal floral accents and needed a custom budding vase that could be used individually or grouped on shelves and tables. They commissioned Mosteb to develop a small clear glass budding vase with a softly tapered neck, subtle hand-polished rim, and a thickened rounded base.
The narrow neck was designed to support single stems or dried flowers without additional holders, while the weighted base ensured stability in public-facing interiors. They chose Mosteb because we offered factory-direct communication, flexible MOQs suitable for project-based orders, and the ability to refine proportions rather than push standardized designs.

Challenges
- Precise Size Control for Interior Styling: The studio required strict height and opening tolerances so the vases would align visually when arranged in sets—an issue they had faced with previous suppliers where size deviations were noticeable.
- Surface Quality Expectations: As the vases would be used in close-up interior photography, minor surface bubbles or uneven rims were unacceptable.

Cause Analysis
Our team identified the core issues as:
- Conventional mass-production molds often prioritize output over dimensional consistency
- Inadequate finishing processes can lead to visible rim irregularities on small-format glassware
To address this, we adjusted both tooling precision and post-production inspection standards specifically for this project.

Solution
- Customized Mold Calibration: We fine-tuned mold tolerances to control height variation within ±1.5mm, ensuring consistency across batches.
- Enhanced Rim Finishing Process: Each budding vase underwent additional fire-polishing at the rim to achieve a smooth, even edge suitable for high-visibility use.
- Project-Based Sampling Approval: We provided staged samples—from initial prototype to pre-production units—allowing the client to approve proportions before bulk production.
Result
- Successfully delivered 1,800 custom budding vases on schedule
- The vases were integrated into multiple Danish interior projects without on-site stability issues
- The studio reported improved installation efficiency and stronger visual consistency
- A follow-up order was placed for two additional size variations for future projects
