A boutique home décor studio from Denmark approached our glazen bloemenvaas china team to create a line of custom-engraved glass flower vases featuring Nordic geometric patterns. They wanted a design that reflected Scandinavian minimalism while offering a signature pattern their customers could instantly recognize. A custom-fit oak wood lid was also requested to align with their eco-friendly product line.

Uitdagingen
- The engraved geometric pattern caused uneven glass thickness, leading to distortion in the final shape when cooled.
- The natural oak lid required high-accuracy fitment, but its moisture sensitivity made dimensional consistency difficult during production.

Our engineering team conducted detailed thermal-flow simulations and discovered that the engraving depth and spacing created localized cooling gradients, which pushed the vase out of round. Additionally, wood samples from the client showed variable moisture content, causing expansion that made the lid fit unpredictable.
To resolve these issues, we performed controlled mold adjustments, prototyped multiple engraving patterns, and coordinated with the client to standardize wood treatment specifications. Weekly technical reports ensured every adjustment matched the studio’s aesthetic and functional expectations.
Oplossing
- Redesigned engraving geometry to maintain uniform wall thickness without losing the original Nordic style.
- Introduced a multi-stage annealing process to stabilize shape accuracy during cooling.
- Standardized oak lids to a fixed moisture-content range and implemented CNC trimming for micron-level precision.
- Added a final-fit inspection protocol pairing lids and vases to guarantee consistent closure feel.
Resultaat
The Danish studio received a stable, high-quality production run of their signature vases, achieving both aesthetic refinement and functionality. Their first retail batch sold out within eight weeks, and they have since expanded the collection with two new sizes—continuing their exclusive partnership with Mosteb for ongoing development.
