Mosteb was approached by a U.S.-based exhibition and event designer to create a custom table vase design project. The client wanted to create several different types of glass vases to sell at trade shows, exhibits and for office decor.
Exhibition products must be both visually consistent and stable, be easy to handle, and be able to be delivered in bulk without the threat of failure. The client required a manufacturing partner with the ability to create several designs on a consistent basis on dimensions, finishes, and production quality.

Uitdagingen
Tijdens het ontwikkelen van maatwerkoplossingen deden zich twee belangrijke problemen voor.
Challenge 1: Multiple Designs within One Visual System
The client required a variety of table vase designs for various exhibition events such as minimalist, modern and floral themes. The project needed to feature several different heights, varying neck and base ratios, as well as three surface finishes – clear, lightly tinted and frosted.
The challenge was to make each vase look different from the other while maintaining a visual harmony with the others. The dimensions, thickness of the glass, proportions and surface finishes were therefore required to be controlled between the various designs.
Challenge 2: Enhancing Stability for High Traffic Exhibition Areas
Stability was an important consideration, due to the vases being used in busy exhibition spaces. The client’s ideas were for small table vases that would not tip over during installation and everyday use, and would be easy for staff to manage.
The design thus had to take into account the base, height, thickness of the glass and the distribution of its weight. The aim was to enhance stability while reducing the weight of the vases to the minimum.
Resultaat
Mosteb ontwikkelde een compleet plan voor maatwerk en productie om deze problemen op te lossen.
Het ontwerp van de mal in combinatie met de glasverdeling resulteerde in stabiele en evenwichtige vazen die gebruikers kunnen gebruiken in drukbezochte gebieden. We hebben standaardafmetingen vastgesteld voor diverse ontwerpen, waardoor de vazen een uniforme uitstraling behouden en tegelijkertijd verschillende ontwerpmogelijkheden bieden.
Het testproces omvatte evaluaties van duurzaamheid en stabiliteit, waaruit bleek dat de vazen bestand waren tegen transport en gebruiksomstandigheden zonder hun oorspronkelijke kwaliteit te verliezen.
Mosteb onderhield gedurende het hele project constant contact met de klant over de ontwerpontwikkelingen, de resultaten van de prototypes en de productiestatus. Het eindproduct voldeed aan de ontwerp- en functionele eisen die de klant had gesteld.
The client has received these custom-designed table vases, and the decoration of their exhibition has been completed successfully, with the same appearance of products in various display sites. The stability of structure and the customised finishes helped to improve the installation efficiency, and Mosteb’s production support enabled the client to better manage future event needs with confidence.

- Preproductieplanning: De opdrachtgever ontving advies over diverse tentoonstellingsthema's, verschillende gebruiksscenario's en de benodigde ontwerpvereisten. Het team maakte technische tekeningen met oplossingen voor stabiliteit en duurzaamheid, evenals esthetische ontwerpelementen, die aan de opdrachtgever werden gepresenteerd.
- Monsterproductie en -optimalisatie: Het productieteam maakte ontwerpmonsters voor testdoeleinden. Het team optimaliseerde de matrijsdetails op basis van feedback van de klant over afmetingen, gewicht en oppervlakteafwerking, totdat de klant het volledige ontwerp goedkeurde.
- Kostenoptimalisatie en massaproductie: Het productieproces werd geoptimaliseerd nadat de klant alle ontwerpelementen had goedgekeurd, omdat het team streefde naar afvalvermindering. Het productieteam voerde in alle fasen monitoringactiviteiten uit om de kwaliteitsnormen te waarborgen.
- Continue communicatie en leveringsgarantie: Het team onderhield gedurende het gehele massaproductieproces continu contact. De klant ontving regelmatig updates over de status van de bestelling. Dit proces garandeerde dat de producten op tijd geleverd zouden worden.
