Casestudy
A luxury French perfumer was about to introduce a new collection of reed diffusers to the market, but their basic packaging didn’t seem to stand out in the high-end retail market. The brand worked closely with our design team to create a whole custom packaging solution. We went through several stages of concept discussions, sampling prototypes and refined details to make the final product represent the luxury aspect of the brand.
We chose the apothecary style glass diffuser bottle embossed with vertical stripes from the brand, because we wanted a bottle with a distinctive design that would be eye-catching. We also selected the matte black fittings for them, gold tassels that adorn the neck of the bottle, and the matching reed sticks. We also invented magnetic bottle stoppers and outer sleeves in the form of packaging for the whole collection, so our product is uniform.
Trading up the packaging meant that the perfume became more prominent in boutiques and gift shops. The brand’s retail partners report that the number of purchases made on impulse has doubled in the first two months after launch. This project shows the strength of a unique glass bottle, carefully chosen accessories and coordinated packaging in the retail appeal of premium reed diffusers.
