Client Background
Square glass diffuser bottles company Mosteb collaborated with a U.S.-based fragrance manufacturing facility that has been designing a home fragrance product line, and required custom square glass diffuser bottles that would suit its modern and elevated brand image. The client needed clean geometry, accurate dimensions, and uniform glasses quality to help in visual branding and automated filling lines.
The fragrance factory opted to use the services of the Mosteb due to his good experience in the development of square bottles, ability to be customized in various ways, ability to maintain a stable quality control, and easy communication during international projects.
Challenges
Two major issues emerged during the process of customization of square glass diffusers in the form of bottles:
- Acute Edges, Planes, and Dimensional Accuracy: Square diffuser bottles shall have flat sides, sharp corners, and a neck size that is correct. Even such trifles as deviation can influence label alignment, cap placement and appearance of the shelf in general. Strict tolerances in large production volumes without being deformed in the process of cooling was one of the technical challenges.
- Consistency in Finish and Color of Brand: The client ordered a tailor-made transparent smoke-gray shade and smooth finish of high clarity that would emphasize the highlighting of the fragrance liquid within it. To have consistent color intensity, smoothness of the surface, and identical visual appearance of batches, particularly when this had to be used repeatedly, there had to be close oversight of the raw material and production factors.
Result
In order to overcome these issues, Mosteb used a very elaborate, and collaborative production strategy:
- We streamlined the mould designs and tempering to have sharp square sides and uniform bottle sizes.
- Several color and finish tests were made with the aim of matching the exact brand tone of the client.
- During the production, there was an excellent communication channel between us and the client where we kept sharing samples, test results and progress information.
The glass bottles that were created as the final square and fully diffused fulfill the functional and branding needs of the client and made the launch of their fragrance line an easy task that helped them to consolidate their market.
How We Did It
- Pre-Production Work (Solution Planning): We started with detailed discussions to know about the concept of the brand, bottle capacity, filling process and plans to do the decorations. According to this, we gave professional advice in terms of glass composition, wall thickness and square plastic mould pattern.
- Sample Production and Adjustment of Feedback: First samples were made and forwarded to test. We refined the details of the mould and formula of the glass until we reached our final acceptance based on client responses to sharpness of the corners, neck precision and colourings.
- Mass Production and Cost Optimization: After the design was validated we optimized the batch size, mold use and production schedule so that we could control the cost but still produce with premium quality.
- Production, Communication and Delivery: In the case of mass production, we were updating them with regularity, photos of the inspections, and schedules. Whenever there were problems to be met, they were resolved efficiently to carry out production, deliver on time, and satisfy customers.
